141- Why Music in our Schools month matters and how to celebrate with your students

It’s March which means it’s officially music in our schools month!  Your students may have heard you mention this, but aren’t quite sure what exactly it means.  First of all, talk about why music in our schools month exists.  Of course you’re teaching music all year long and not just the month of March.  The first National Music in our schools month occurred in 1973 in New York and now is a national event in the US.  Having a month set aside to truly focus on advocating and celebrating music education is so awesome.  In this episode we’ll focus on ways to help your students understand why music in our school month matters and give them reasons to advocate and celebrate right along with you.
